Ok, these might not be the best Seattle wedding venue’s for videography in 2025 but you’re a savvy wedding researcher, you probably already realize I’m posting this for SEO purposes, right? Right! So now that the full transparency reveal is out of the way, these venue’s are pretty darn great! I have worked at them multiple times, I really enjoy shooting weddings in these venue’s, for all kinds of reason’s which I go into.
Btw, these venue’s are all over the map in cost, that said, the better venue’s unless you’re doing a micro wedding in a state or national park will tend to be at the high end. One more caveat, this post isn’t all about feeding the all mighty SEO algorithm, I really enjoy sharing my many years of wedding videography experiences, I’m probably the second longest active professional wedding videographer in Washington State, my bud Corey Bogle at Bogle Productions takes top honor’s for that. Enjoy!
I created the first wedding film at Fireseed all those years ago and I continue to work there often, Fireseed is one of the best Seattle wedding venue’s to work at and taking the top spot. It’s a wedding videographer’s dream property, it has so much variety, from classic PNW tall conifers to immaculate old English lawn/flower beds with explosions of color that would make a Faery blush, in lower half of property there’s ample area for kids to play with Ponies to hang with, a well built wood deck angles into the lake making it a go to spot for beautiful sunset photo/video’s. The other very unique aspect of Fireseed is the vision of owner’s Dave and Dawn, Dave is a highly regarded chef, he and his team create/cook everything, all yummy organic produce comes directly from farm on property, so no need to hire outside catering, Dawn does all the planning/coordinating so you can let go of needing to hire a planner, everything is run very efficiently with luxury touches making Fireseed truly the best bang for buck for high end destination, farm to table wedding.
One of the theme’s of this blog post is venue’s that have nature front and center, well considering the Islandwood School is to teach kids how to be in touch with nature, this amazing property has to be experienced, even if you don’t have your wedding here, it’s so unique, hundred’s of acre’s of giant Cedar, Fir, Spruce, green’s so lush your out of town guests will become intoxicated with it’s beauty. There’s miles of hiking trails, the staff do a great job of shuttling your wedding party around on golf carts to all their really cool giant tree houses that scream for video/photo op’s, as you can see from video, the video from Islandwood is like a nature documentary and in my humble opinion, has a profound effect on the wedding party, people just feel good here, a very different energy than having your wedding at a downtown Seattle hotel, Islandwood is for those who get it that nature will always be front and center in their lives.
If you stick around this industry for many years, it’s really interesting to witness venue’s that become the ‘go to’ ones in Seattle, for years it was Sodo Park, the last few years, The Admiral’s House is where it’s at and for good reason, stunning views, a property with lot’s of history, fresh marine air and a wealth of places nearby for fantastic photo/video opportunities. I’ve worked there a lot over the years and I always look forward to it’s unique character and lovely filtered sunlight. The dance parties here also tend to be really fun.
Hands down my favorite large winery wedding venue. The architecture is unique, much more bold, stylish than other nearby wineries in Woodinville, the post industrial concrete walls are seamlessly blended into property with abundant natural landscaping that ties together, creating interesting pocket’s of gathering spaces, while also providing more than ample space for larger weddings. The staff are first rate as is the wine. I really like the energy, atmosphere here, it’s very conducive for creative videography and Super 8 film.
If you love museum’s and classic Art Deco architecture, The Asian Art Museum should be given serious consideration. What really makes this such a great venue for videography is the sheer variety of looks, outside you have Volunteer Park that has ample privacy for couple’s photo/video walkabouts even on busy summer weekends. What’s really cool is your guests abd photo/video team are free to wonder, using the museum art exhibits as backdrop for couple’s video shoots, this is unherd of as art museums are very strict about camera’s, it can make for cool, artistic video op’s, I love it! The main hall is cavernous yet intimate because of clever design element’s, it really is one of the most unique properties for weddings anywhere and I feel it gets overlooked by newer trendy venue’s.
For a true resort experience yet close in to Seattle, Alderbrook Resort has you covered, from various water, boating activities to lot’s of local nature, hiking plus a championship golf course. The lodge and cabins are high end rustic. The huge lawn bordering the Hood Canal is one of the most stunning backdrops anywhere, the Olympic mountains close by are dramatic. There’s lots of area’s on the property for fantastic videography moments as well up the road close to Golf course.
For a memorable urban Seattle wedding, Fremont Foundry should be high on your list of venues to consider. Nestled smack in the middle of the Fremont arts district, Fremont Foundry is a true outdoor/indoor hybrid space, the rooftop hosts the ceremony’s with an epic backdrop of Seattle, the industrial main hall for some reason has the most wild, exuberant dance parties Ive ever shot. Most of the wedding photographer’s I work with there want to take the couple’s on a walkabout around the neighborhood, sign me up! A good example of that is in the attached video, Regina and Dylan have a blast discovering the neighborhood, neither live in Seattle.
Hyatt Regency Lake Washington – at Seattle’s Southport
Opened not long ago, this Hyatt Regency has become very popular with the East Indian community of Bellevue, Redmond, it’s cavernous main room, overlooking the lake and Seattle skyline can comfortably accommodate hundred’s of wedding guests, making for some memorable dance parties. It’s also minutes from Sea Tac airport, the south end of Seattle really didn’t have an upscale wedding venue until now, a great location for larger wedding celebrations with huge window’s facing the lake.
The old school resort that never gets old, Roche Harbor is a truly unique experience nestled on the south side of San Juan Island, rich in history, generations of families have been married at Roche Harbor, it’s in fact the only wedding venue I know of where it’s common the couple’s are choosing to wed there because their parent’s or grandparent’s were married there, I appreciate this connection to tradition and family. San Juan Island is a videographer’s dream, if there’s time, a drive around the Island with couple after first look for photo/video is magical, hidden secret coves to Orca whales just yards from the lighthouse. Roche Harbor has plenty of lovely nature trails, plus walking amongst the boats, the tradition of lowering the flags at sunset replete with canon salute is a must for video! The main garden of the resort is where the ceremony’s are, with a backdrop of yachts and heavenly flowered garden’s, it’s intimate, rich in history.
Yes, the beloved Seattle Pacific Science Center hosts weddings, I shot the first wedding video there a few years back, they only do a handful a year so it definitely flies under the radar but it’s a blast to have your wedding there, it’s like shooting wedding video in a Hollywood film set with it’s giant Dino’s and plethora of hands on exhibit’s, this is your go to wedding venue for both your own creative inner child and if you’re having a lot of kids in attendance. You definitely want to hire a wedding coordinator as the staff there is limited, you get the run of the place, which is acre’s of property, this includes all indoor exhibits area plus outdoor fountain’s. Have your dance party under the menacing gaze of a T Rex, walk around the Butterfly house and if you’re a high energy couple who wants to treat your friends and guests to a mind melding experience, you can rent the Laser Dome for your late night after party, your imbibing guests will never forget the experience and neither will you as you’ll hopefully have fun video like below.
